purple

purple has been my favorite color for over a year. i remember when it started. i was at urban outfitters in the cherry creek mall...i saw the long purple cardigan...and it changed my life...forget the fact that we were doing a little drunk shopping...one awkward happy hour at the sushi restaurant sure took it's toll on me....that poor woman, throwing herself at the bartender, "accidentally" leaving her purse hanging on the bar...but that is a story in and of itself. urban was was calling our name....rocking out to m.i.a.(before she got knocked up and wore that tragic outfit at some awards show)the purple cardigan called me....try me, buy me...not only did i buy the precious sweater, i bought purple pants...and the purple party was born...but wait, maybe it was born in at american apparel earlier in the day, when i bought my first eggplant scarf....or did i get my purple suede boots first...i'm getting confused....well no matter where it started, i'm pretty sure it began sometime in 2007..whether it be seattle or denver i'm not so sure, but certainly wasn't in saltizzle... it's still rocking on. Fast forward....4 purple sweaters....1 pair of purple boots...multiple purple eyeshadows and liners...and two purple scarves later...i'm helping sister pick out paint....for the room that i briefly occupied, but is more frequently slept in by my dear sweet father...she wants a chocolate accent wall...while i love the idea of the accent wall.... that's a little too typical....you may live in suburbia, but your paint colors do NOT need to be generic...we're working with some pb bedding....purples grays golds....very interesting....so i suggest a dark almost brown/black purple....plum brown is it's name...and damn...it's fantastic!!! Ron schlepped that stuff on the wall while we were out shopping for pillow shams and pizza...and it's the most amazing color ever....i'll have to take a picture....it's beautiful...makes its point, but doesn't scream purple. my poor dad...he hates purple and he's had to paint yet another wall purple. the best part....watching design star the night after the paint....and seeing all the purple they used...this girls got skills....paint picking out skills....and she accepts cash....or free meals and a air conditioned home to sleep in....and dear dad...i'm sorry about all the purple..
